Post My Elvish Name... Correct?
on: April 11, 2005 05:31
Well, I'm not sure... my friend had her friend to check how to put together:

Ara- (prefix for 'noble')

-and-

Annun (n. 'sunset')

How he got Aarannun ('Noble Sunset'), I have no clue. Was going to ask but both of them went offline. *sigh*

Any tips and/or corrections, or is this right?

Nor have I, especially regarding the _Aa_ !
Imo it would be Arannun or ArannĂșn (_ ar-_ + _annĂ»n_ ).

Just as a note of interest to anyone who is looking to form names with ara-/ar- ...
Tolkien tells us in Letters 347 that "ara-" would be used where the final element is of one syllable and "ar-" would be used in other cases.
