Sunday Bloody Sunday- U2
Love is a Battlefield- Pat Benatar
Rock Me Amadues- Falco
Play That Funky Music- (fergot who its by)
Puttin' on the Ritz- Taco(I think thats in those eras)
White Wedding- Billy Idol (he's the greatest. Eek!)

Anywho, I like lots more than those, but it would take too long to type them all down. Hehe, what about you guys?

I think I could probably post a couple of pages worth of faves on this topic, but I'll try to narrow it down! I'm more a fan of 80's music than 70's but I love Joy Division who started in the 70's.

I'll start off by seconding one of your choices: Falco's Rock Me Amadeus, an all-time classic.

A few more:
Atmosphere - Joy Division
Everything Counts - Depeche Mode
Love My Way - Psychedelic Furs
Round & Round - New Order
Angel - Madonna
The Sun & The Rainfall - Depeche Mode
Lean On Me - Red Box
Stand & Deliver - Adam & The Ants
I Like Chopin - Gazebo
Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode
Axel F - Harald Faltermeyer
19 - Paul Hardcastle
Shattered Dreams - Johnny Hates Jazz
Tarzan Boy - Baltimora
(I Ran) So Far Away - A Flock Of Seagulls
We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off - Jermaine Stewart
We Close Our Eyes - Go West
Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode

Ok, I'm close to breaking my promise to narrow down the list, and that's just a few off the top of my head, so I'll stop here. I'm also beginning to feel old!!! I think the 80's was the best era for music but I'm sure that anyone thinks the time around their teens/early adulthood is the best. Most people I know around my age agree with me about the 1980's anyway.

Lol. Actually, Grey Pilgrim, I think 80's music is coming back into style now. Most of my friends and I listen to it now... one of my brothers thinks I'm crazy, but hey, its good dancing music! Lol. No need to feel old, really!

Anyone who knows "Sylvia's mother"?

Sylvia's mother says "Sylvia's busy"
"Too busy to come to the phone"
Sylvia's mother says "Sylvia's tryin'"
"To start a new life of her own"
Sylvia's mother says "Sylvia's happy"
"So why don't you leave her alone?"...
Image Reeling and foundering, as ever more strong/ The chanting swelled, Felagund fought,/ And all the magic and might he brought/ Of Elvenesse into his words./ Softly in the gloom they heard the birds/ Singing afar in Nargothrond,/ The sighing of the Sea beyond,/ Beyond the western world, on sand,/ On sand of pearls in Elvenland.

Oh my goodness, I love 70's and 80's music.....my era. I would be here all day listing all of my favourites, so here are some of them:

I am a huge U2 fan  I love all their music from early stuff to present day. In the 70's and 80's:

I still haven't found what I'm looking for
With or without you
Pride
Where the streets have no name
I will follow
Bad
Sunday, bloody Sunday to name a few.

Tears for Fears:
Shout
Sowing the seeds of love
Head over heels
I believe

Elvis Costello:
Oliver's Army
Good year for the roses

Bee Gees, especially their Saturday Night Fever tunes:
Night Fever
Stayin' alive
More than a woman
How deep is your love

Mark Bolan and T.Rex:
I love to boogie
Ride a white swan

All Motown....too many to list right now.

Bangles - Manic monday
Ultravox - Vienna, Dancing with tears in my eyes
George Michael - A different corner
Bonnie Tyler - Total eclipse of the heart
Spandau Ballet - True
Queen - We will rock you, We are the champions, Crazy little thing called love, A kind of magic
Duran Duran - Save a prayer
Eurythmics - Sweet dreams
Joe Jackson - Is she really going out with him, Different for girls, Jumpin' jive
Blondie - Heart of glass, Sunday girl
Neil Diamond - Love on the rocks, Hello again, Song sung blue, Sweet Caroline
Gloria Gaynor - I will survive
.........and lots more to many to mention.

The great musical event of the 80's was of course, Live Aid.

I forgot to mention the Bee Gees. I really like them a lot. Oh, nobody should feel old because one of my friends listens to really old music back to the 50s and even older. That's not even our era...

Finally! Someone started a thread like this! I like pretty much everything that everyone has said. I am a huge fan of Classic Rock, and some of the best of that kind of music is from that era. Not many people my age like that kind of music, so I'm kind of an oddball usually.

I  pretty much anything by Billy Joel and U2. I am also a huge Eagles fan, although I don't know if they're considered 70s and 80s, I wasn't around then, but I saw them in concert and they are AMAZING!!!

I love all the 80s modern and New Wave music. It´s the best decade of modern music, many styles were created, many artist, well I think it´s obvious I have something from the 80s.

From the 70s super bands like Queen, Abba, Black Sabbath, also disco music, Bee Gess.

Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favourites since I was a kid. I don't listen very much Queen now (LOTR is more important), but I still love them.
