Post does anyone know what they mean?

i have collected various items of movie merchandise from all three films and am slightly baffled as to the symbols that feature on most of the FOTR items. if any one owns the aragorn/arwen mug from that film there are symbols which appear to relate to each character(they are also on other aragorn/arwen merchandise).

can anyone identify them or tell me their meanings?
it would be great to finally know

Perhaps you could give us a little more specific information, rose. A description of the symbols and the name of the company that made the items might help a bit.

good idea!

the mugs are made by downpace ltd and have 'you shall be the fellowship of the ring' written inside. i can't really descibe the symbols and since i'm new to this i don't know how to show any pics. sorry.

i know the same symbols are used on other FOTR stuff, i've even seen the aragorn one on a set of temporary tattoos.
