Name: The Scattered
Time: End of the Third Age

Idea: Alternate ending; Sauron now possesses the Ring; Frodo failed and the fellowship split up. Hobbits were captured, and the others were seperated.


Premise: Well, this is more or less a kind of "Things have gone from bad to wrose" rpg. It's flowing with an idea that Sauron has aquired the One Ring.... he is winning.

All different kinds of people in Middle-Earth have already been rounded up and captured; elves, men, dwarves and hobbits. Once captured, they are taken and set to work in the flatlands of Mordor, building new structures and strongholds for the Dark Lord. Orcs, Easterlings and other such creatures are currently sweeping across Middle Earth, rounding up more races, and killing those who attempt to fight back. Many cities and places have fallen and become overrun


HOWEVER

All is not lost - since there are a few various groups and cities that have not yet been taken. Rivendell is one -- it houses remaining elves, dunedain and men.... Aragorn has since returned there himself to take up his position of Dunedain Chiefton, leading the small gathering from Rivendell and protecting it's boarders. Rumors have also been that Eomer is leading his remaining people out from Helm's Deep, and they are currently fending from that port. There are a few still left in Minas Tirith - but that city is also quickly failing (what with being so close to the boarders of Mordor).



In short - I'm looking for rpers to help create this story of a last hope - Those who are still willing to fight and attempt to overrun and destory evil. Many battles, many losses, etc. but HOPE still, above all.


If you are interested in becoming a part of this RP -- please PM me with suggestions or ideas about your character's role in this story --- I hope to find some roleplayers who are gifted and into a bit of bulk writing, detail, etc.


* Just a note: All book characters (i.e. Aragorn, Eomer, etc.) will be simply NPC'd by the writers in this story. Though they are a part of the formation, I only want them to speak when needed to. This is a story about the fighters, not the leaders

It might be interesting to create a parallel set of posts within your storyline, e.g. a group of hobbits and elves INSIDE Mordor who are gathering (when they can) to prepare for either a mutiny inside Mordor or an escape from same. Having no idea what's happening in the rest of Middle Earth, still they have hope that they can do something, anything to free Frodo and company and somehow finish what he began.

Just a thought..............

Yeah, I was actually thinking about having some of those captured (be they hobbits or elves or humans) --- rping from WITHIN the prison camps; their work, etc...

And having some of them plotting for an inside rebellion, while hopefully finding someway to communicate with outside forces.

I've introduced Adrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth, a captive inside Mordor. He's talked to 4 others; 2 elves, a man from Rohan and a ranger from the north. Ergo, an opening for 4 more characters for anyone who wants to pick up any of them.

But it doesn't move the posts of you and Gwen along at all...sorry. *grins*

Nice I will post Hathën as one of the men in the Mordor captive-company.

My post or segment with Mornian was just an intro for his character... I'll bring him to the others sooner or later, but I wanted to set up some options for more characters, should they wish to enter.

Update: I'm really really really happy with the way this story is going Yay and thanks to all those who have joined and plotted with me.

What's coming up?

Well, the slave camp is on the move, and heading towards Dol Guldur - however, words is/will be sent to Faramir and his remaining soldiers/rangers that they are moving... so they are free to intercept - and help free the small group of slaves enroute to Dol Guldur.

Of course there will be losses, some slaves killed - and others (rather, main characters) will probably be wounded (some fatal, others not).

In which, Faramir and his troupe will help escort and make way towards Rivendell - in which, the other companies, etc. will welcome them and help tend to their wounds, etc. etc.


Of course, not all is happy - especially not the orcs. So, that orc troupe gathers a small (and by small we round to about 200) orc army - and marches on Rivendell.

In which, our first battle shall take place.


Now I know some people don't LIKE to rp battle, but we will be None of this:

"The battle began quickly, and raged on for an hour or two... and then all was silent again."

There will be some description, etc. etc. But we can cross that bridge when we get there.

Sound good?

Now that Faramir's boys have intercepted the orcs and their prisoners, is Faramir going to become an NPC...one open to anyone to speak for him? I am posting with a line or two to/from him unless I hear otherwise from you, HoC.

I assumed he would join the ranks with Aragorn, etc. --- who don't really speak unless needed to.

Now that your little group has arrived - I imagine that those leaders will be having their own little discussion about what to do.... WHILE the orcs and their smaller parties gather up to attempt an attack on Rivendell (perhaps only about 200-400 orcs)....

And then the reunited (and newly met ) can have a chance to discuss the latest happenings... before I post Aragorn and the others giving a public announcement to all companys in some kind of 'rivendell courtyard' --- in which, they will give instructions for preperation of the coming battle, etc. etc.



And then we get to fight

Is that ok?

Fine with me (is Rivendell going to hold against 200-400 orcs?). But before that begins, this may be the place and time for your elleth, your lovely elf maiden, to meet Adrahil.....and we shall see what we shall see. If she's in the db, I will be able to figure out what she looks like but if she isn't, better give me a hint. *smiles*

Now that I'm back from being out of town this weekend, I'll hopefully have a post in soon.

A quick question on Imladris - am I right then, in thinking that since Sauron had 'prevailed' with the Ring, that Elrond's protective spell on the valley is weakened? (lol just for my own curiosity :angel

Oh I imagine it has weakened a bit. I assumed Elrond had left to the Gray Havens - despite a few elves, including his sons, have stayed.

I shall await your post then and then post a responce.

Just letting you know there will be a brief break for a bit - since I'm beginning to move all my stuff up to my house (for university).... so I'm not sure how long I'll be without internet, but hopefully no more than a week or so.

I STILL want to continue the thread... so worry not - don't disappear. My reply will just be a bit late. I will certainly PM you when I have my reply up and my connection back.

I am LOVING the story so far! So thank you all This will also give me some time (whilst I struggle with having NO internet) to think about the plot advances and the attack on Rivendell
