Helm's deep? Minas Tirith? The city of the elves?
No... But this place in southern France made me think of them.
Welcome to "Rocamadour" in the Lot region.
You have a castle, a wood within the city, Eagles at the top and a cave...

A place to visit.

thats one awesome pic! It does look like it could be another Minas Tirith or an elven city!

Wow....absolutely beautiful. Definitely a stunning resemblance to Minas Tirith. Now I must drive around by where I live to look for places that share a resemblance to Tolkien-related locations.

It is beautiful and it could resemble Minas Tirith and I would love to visit it. Too bad there aren't nice places like that where I live.

They are aren't they? I don't recall how I found the site - I think I was trying to find something like floor plans of Rivendell. I really want to have my home like that...

Those pictures are amazing. A forest near where I live, or rather, many forests I have been to remind me of Lothlorien, and one reminded me of Fangorn, dark and uncomfortable, almost smothering really. Quite a strange feeling to receive from a forest now isn't it? I enjoyed looking at those pictures, absolutely lovely.

Visit the most amazing medieval city in the world... Carcassonne.
(Walt Disney sent artists to draw sketches for the sleeping beauty castle.)

They used it for Robin hood prince of thieves with K.Costner.

I have the chance to live in that area!

Southern France is a bit like middle Earth...

These pictures are beautiful. I love being able to look at a photo and think of Middle Earth. Earth definitely has places of pure beauty.
