RE: Chapter X; Turin in Nargothrond on: November 30, 2007 02:39
1) How were the Elves of Nargothrond dealing with their enemies before the arrival of Turin, and how did he change their plans? The elves of Nargothrond used stealth to deal with the orcs. Hiding and shooting the orcs they saw coming into their lands. When Turin came he urged them to face them in battle. They built a bridge over Narog and increased their supply of weapons and pursued the orcs.
2) Why did Orodreth heed Turin's advice over that of Gwindor?
Because he saw that Turin was a wise and skillful fighter. Gwindor had been in Angband long and was no longer as strong as he used to be. At the time, Turin's argument for being open in battle seemed more wise than Gwindor's argument for staying in secrecy.
3) Why was Turin upset with Gwindor for revealing his real name? He thought that Gwindor brought his doom down on him and that the curse would start to do its work again.
