1) In what several ways was this battle different from the previous battles?

2) (from Figwit) What purpose was served by the punishment of Hurin? What does it say about Morgoth?

3) Why stack all of the bodies of your enemies into a single pile?

4) ( from Figwit)The chapter begins with the end of Beren and Lúthien's story. Did you like it? Why is it placed here?

I hopes that Húrin would reveal the location of Gondolin in order that Morgoth would show mercy to his family. Shows that Morgoth knows that there is more ways than physical pain to torture someone. He is aware that a great warrior like Húrin would probably endure great torture if it only involved his own well-being, but if Húrin felt like it was his own fault that the ones he loved were suffering, then maybe he would give in.

3) Why stack all of the bodies of your enemies into a single pile?
Break your enemy's morale?
Would be harder to gather an army if they saw what could happen to them.
