Post Pronunciation Question?
on: February 07, 2015 08:39
I normally don't use forums, but I've started learning Quenya through the workbook, and I have a question.

In the first exercise, matin is "eat" and matinye it "I eat", correct? The stress in matin is on the first syllable, so MAtin. So for matinye, the stress would shift to the second to last syllable because ny is technically a consonant cluster. I would just like to confirm that. Thanks

Thank you! So ANY two consonants form a cluster? Even double consonants like ll in roquelli or aranelli?

Yes, even double consonants.
In this way you clearly hear the difference between macili 'swords' and macilli 'some swords'.
