RIP Alan. I will always remember meeting you as a child at my uncle's house and being compeltely terrified of you! It's a shame I never got to make up for that first reaction. Another of Britain's treasures

Ilde, when you met him, was he already playing the part of Snape? Maybe that is why you were afraid of him. I would think you were not the first child to be afraid. I would like to hear more of this story.

You should see how the kids cry and scream at Disney World when they first meet up with a giant mouse.
