Post Switching Placement of Words Question
on: June 10, 2017 01:50
"Long will the warriors praise the countries." Here is my translation: "Anda i mahtari laituvar i nóri." Did I do this correctly, because I kinda made the sentence look like this: "Long the warriors will praise the countries." Is there a better way of doing this without switching the words in the sentence?

The Quenya word order is different from the English word order. The word order in your translation is correct.
But I have another remark: long is an adverb in this sentence so it should be andavë (the praising is long not the warriors or the countries).
Yassë engë lómë, anarties calali.

Haha. Thanks! I was told about andavë on another website, too! I'll make sure to correct that! Thank goodness this was correct because I felt as if I was using sentence structure completely wrong!
