“You gave your life’s grace away. I cannot protect you anymore.”
i think pj WAY over did this whole aragorn/arwen thing. elrond’s 2 mad. i think he should b more sad than mad
uh huh, i get you LOTRfan. though i think that he is to protective over arwen. She can make her own decisions
but that’s the way it’s in the books, elrond even says to aragorn that only a king could marry her, that’s bad
On that way he want’s to protect Arwen. And he is probably sad but he don’t want to show.Sometimes when I’m
don’t want to show it and I’m angry because of that
When I studied psyhology we where taught this, first Fear, tehn Anger
As a dad he would be devastated to know he couldn’t protect his little girl anymore. So sad.
Oh, the scenery! Beautiful!
Well, he seems a bit like Thongol to me sometimes. I think he’s a little too angry.
But overall, I think it’s been played out well. Thongol=Thingol**
I just wish, Elrond could be happy for Arwen.
He is but he also is sad and scared. He want’s to be sure that Arwen is 100% sure in that desizion.
He doesn’t know how else to react. I think perhaps he came to terms that his adoptive son would die…
soon or later, but he could never conceive the fact that his only daughter would die as well.
Remember, Elrond had to make that same decision ages ago. Now Arwen makes the opposite decision. Although I do
think a father must let his 1000s yr old daughter grow up, and at least be a little supportive. It’s terrible
to love you father, and never live up to his ecpectations, and still love and dissapoint and love…
It’s all v. hard on Elrond having to face so many losses in his lifetime… What would he say to his wife
waiting for him in Valinor (who doesn’t get to be a part of Arwen’s decision?)
While Arwen dies (happy/satisfied?) w/ her love/decision, Elrond lives w/ the burden of memory.
You also have to remeber that Arwen is an only child in the movie, which changes their relationship
as well, there needs to be some risistance on Arwen’s part or the romance would fall apart.
Poor elrond. He accepts it at the end though. He’s sad here, at the end he looks nice smiling for a change.
In TTT he was a bit of a jerk, here you can see he’s just really sad and he’s feeling helpless.
You need to remember also that Elrond lost his (twin?) brother, Elros, to the fate that Arwen has chosen, too.
His wife left him, but is waiting for him, perhaps he wants his family to be togather
arwen is not an only child in the movies they had scenes with her brothers but they were cut, and arwen was al
always elronds favoirte she is his precious
I think he’s too overprotective. No matter how much he loved her, it was her choice.
Just you count Elrond’s losses: 1. his parents, and his mother choose keeping the STONE from Feanorians over s
saving her sons, 2.his foster father Maglor, 3.his brother Elros, 4.his king Gil-galad, 5.his wif
5.his wife. We don’t know how many friends he lost in the first war with Sauron, and now his Arwen. And he can
And he cannot do anything.
Elrond really reminds me of my dad. Grumpy, overprotective of his daughter (me).
i am beyond pissed that this was not in the movie it would have been a beautiful scene.
