Yes, more training is needed. The hand goes under the jaw, not against the nose.

Legolas looks annoyingly perfect in this scene…about to fight large battle, and not a hair out of place

That ruble behind them looks like a monster and Aragorn looks afraid.

It always amused me in the movie at this scene. Just comparing Aragorn and Legolas’ archery.
