    I think he’s just looking into the sun, squinting his eyes a little. He looks sad to me.

    gandalfs like, “yeah yeah they’re dead SO STOP WHINING!” i did NOT like that, and neither did my dad.

    this scene had flashed by and my dad was like, “wait wait stop i want to rewind” and we saw this.

    I think it has to do more with the fact that Gandalf may be somewhat proud of her for going into battle.
