Who is the two people on the bridge?
Rapunzel and her Prince? he … he… which part of the Middle Earth history does it illustrate though?
Luthien had a tower, and she had black hair, and that other guy could be Beren, but he didnt visit her tower
I don’t know what it is, but I like this picture a lot better than the other ones, its clearer and has more
vivid colors
Perhaps the man was an Elf sent by her father to guard her?
They look a bit like Arwen and Aragorn… o.O
Alan Lee did illustrate some other works. This could be from one of them.
Or maybe a work from an original story? Maybe Tolkien inspired Lee to write.
so fairy-taley LOVE IT!
It is beautiful! but where is it? are those two people on the bridge Aragon and Arwen?
This is probably from the Sil, and they might be Beren and Lúthien
because Lúthien’s name means ”enchantress”
this has to be one of Lee’s best pictures. this one has bright colours.
I love castles and this one is so superbly inviting
the two figures at the bottom look like Aragon and Arwen in there Coronation garb, Maybe they’re vistitng the
crumbling city of Fornost in old Arnor?
just using my imagination 🙂
BTW I don’t think that this is Luthien because she had a tree housenot a tower. It probably is non-Tolkien
I don’t remember this from the books. lol.
it does look like Arwen and Aragorn, but I can’t think of where it could be
It’s Aragorn and Arwen on ‘Honeymoons from Hell!’
I kno it’s Luhien and Beren…but doesn’t it look like Arwen and Aragorn at his coronation???
Their clothes are just right!
Ok, i love the detail, and if you want ot find where it is, go look in the books.
This painting is nothing to do with Tolkien. It’s taken from Athurian Lore. But it’s beautiful nonetheless ;).
I’ll have to keep an eye out for Arthurian legends with enchantresses towers………….excellent picture
makes me want to be there
this isnt Beren and Luthien.
I don’t think Luthien would have large black crows flying around her tower, and it wouldn’t be broken-down.
I think it’s Tol-in-Gaurhoth after Luthien rescued Beren and shooed Sauron out.
Maybe. :/
