i have a feeling jk rowling used this for ‘inspiration’ sorry hp fans
this is really nice, I love the way he did the wrapping, you can see their desperation
o_O Wow, what is this all about? Is it some scene from The Hobbit? This pic really inspires me to read it!
I guess this is what the ‘Mirkwood spiders’ in the Leggy fics are all about?? ^_^;
SWEET! 😉
JK Rowling was inspired a lot by Tolkien, you can tell (like:the creepy things that control Azkaban, the spider
and the whooping willow are very close to ringwraiths, shelob, and old man willow!)
Well, who’s better for inspiration than Tolkien?
Ugh, this is the creepiest illustration I’ve seen in a while *shudder* I’ve always though Lee was best at evil
AI! I laoth spiders!
And on another point, i do not feal that jk rowling was “inspired” by Tolkiens work at all. SHE PLAGORIZED!
OI! AI! I MAY LOVE HARRY POTTER EVEN LESS THAN SPIDERS!
i love this part in the Hobbit except the spider.
Ugh I have spiders. JK didn’t plagorize, she would have had to actually copy or paraphrase peices of the book.
hate I meant to say hate!
Wow, what a painting! It’s just how I had imagined it when I read the book. Awesome.
*grimacing* er… lovely. stickyish, gooey-looking and creeperifically done.
Ick, spider webs. Just thinking about being caught in one like that makes my skin crawl.
I like tiny money-spiders…I even put up with a tarantula on my hand once…but I can NOT put up with them!
MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Evil spiders rock!
eww….scary!
Oh, this is my favorite piece of Lee’s work! Lot’s of color and the people aren’t all washed out! *gasp*
Yeech! Wonderfully detailed. You can just picture the spiders that made those webs.
Oh, never mind. One of the spiders are already in the pic.
oh NASTY.
Its a great painting, i do think JK. Rowling ripped off some stuff from Tolkien, but still good books
*Sighs* Dracawyn, I’m just going to disagree as politely as I can. “Plagiarizing” is copying ideas directly.
For instance, note that the Dementors in Harry Potter don’t ride horses/fellbeasts, carry cursed knives, ect.,
whereas Nazgul don’t float, suck peoples souls out, ect. In fact, other than the fact that they wear hooded
black cloaks (and the fact that they’re creepy as hell), they’re almost nothing alike. This is NOT plagiarism.
It’s just two similar ideas. Could the Dementors have been inspired by the Nazgul? Maybe. But Rowling’s books
are not in the least bit plagiarized. And anyway, I love them just as much as I do Tolkien’s works. *Sighs*
Sorry about all that. but I’ve had worse rants on this site before (see Meseldzija’s pic of the Watcher).
THANK YOU SarumanofManyColors. That’s all I have to say.
I wouldn’t like to be in their place…
the basic plot of hp and lotr are verry similar: a dark lord who was defeated
but not killed is rising again and only one person can stop them. to do this they must distroy an object or
objects. the horcruxes and the one ring are basicly the same: all of them stop their master from dying and
they can possess people who get to close to them
