Although the evidence is considerable for pointed ears, there’s nothing conclusive. On her site, Anke says …
… that she tries ‘to avoid clichés often occuring in fantasy-art nowadays, such as pointed ears for Elves’.
Whoops, scratch my second comment. The first still applies though — no conclusive evidence for pointed ears.
Oh, does that mean there might be round eared Elves passing for Humans in CoE?

I personally thought of elves with pointed ears, but thats just me: I love pointy ears. But if not all elves
have pointed ears, does that mean we could all be elves!?! I jokingly try to convince my friends that I am an
elf, and this is totally going to help my case. They too think of elves with pointed ears.
As I recall, he does in fact say they have pointed ears… I just can’t remember where
