or isnt legolas is annoying me. it _is_ a picture of legolas by john howe, it may not look like you think it
should do. but Mr Howe says its Legolas and he painted it so he should know. and b) yes i know he doesnt
have blonde hair in this pic. and orlando does. *shrug* its up to the artist what they draw and arguing over
weather the hair on this elf is right or wrong is also annoying. go discuss it in the forums if you want.
i can say one thing though, Legolas is now definetly the prettiest

I like this Legolas. Very femmy and different from the moviie I know, but its so graceful-looking
mabey it’s just me but the eyes remind me of legolas, this makes me think of what his mother would resemble.
That’s exactly how I imagined him, only with black hair.

if anything, in normal lighting it would have been brown, dark at night and gold in the sunlight- like this
picture. Everyone always stereotypes elves as having blonde hair and blue eyes (as they do with Nordic people)
and just to let ya’ll know, that combination of blonde hair blue eyes is VERY rare… like the pic
Folks you can’t expect paintings, movie images, etc. to be exactly the same as your views of a certain
character. Everyone has their own views, and you should respect that. It’s okay to not like this painting
but must you make such a big deal out of it? It’s just a painting guys, life goes on.
I for one am really bugged by people who draw thier character pictures based on the movie and i applod Howe
for thinking outside the box. though this is not exactly one of my favorite pictures, i think the hair is just
perfect
Personally, I like his other painting of him better, but this one’s good too. 🙂
AND…if all this isn’t enough…the blond elf is the EXCEPTION rather than the rule. Read the appendixes
in RotK and you will find that Tolkien specifies dark hair…can’t remember exact complexion though
(But in my fav. pic. Legolas has hair the color of…um…inside the tree? Is that a valid colour?)

Even though I saw the movies before reading the books, this is very close to how I pictured Legolas
while reading LotR. Especially the feminine element, though I cannot explain why.
He looks a lot like a girl. I mean, a LOT. I’d date him…

just mentioning, the way legolas was portrayed in the movies, was Really close to how i pictured him
throughout the books.

I like it. If I remember correctly, Sylvan Elves usually have light colored hair, but that wasn’t the only
hair color; just the most common. Personally, I always imagined him to have blondish-brown hair and gray eyes.
Just proves that everyone imagines things a bit differently. On another note, Elves were generally assumed to
have slanted, almond-shaped eyes. If he looks a bit Asian, it’s just because Asians have the same eye shape.
Mind rule 2 and 6, and treat mister Howe with respect.

He is the prettiest elf in the fellowship *not to mention only elf*
hmm… not my Legolas, too girly, but I like this as any random elf- I may use it for a character inspiration
he look slightly asian. I think it looks more like, well, Arya in Eragon. coough he cough is gorgeous
