a shock to find out she was being lied to. It’s also very not-Tolkien :D, but oh well.

Well I view this as her seeing a POSSIBLE future….like Elrond says, “nothing is certain”
but it’s actually a deffinate future if you’ve read the books you’ll know that she does have a son
yeah and like 2000 daughters as well. lol. it says aragorn and arwen have a lot of daughters

Liv is such a great actress.
I think the reason I loved this part so much is because Liv in this scene is EXACTLY as I saw Tolkein’s Arwen.
The only other time this occurs in the films is in the sword that was broken scene in FOTR
Elrond did not lie. He simply told Arwen what he thought was most important.
I loved this scene in RotK, but you know what’s weird? Eldarion looks like Liv and Viggo, if you look closely
enough at their facial features.
I noticed that right away. Perfect choice for Eldarion…
Liv is beautiful here…just as I imagine Tolkein’s Arwen
They took the picture right when she had her mouth open though…. I know she’s supposed to be gasping in surp
rise, but it kind of spoils it for me….
If Elrond only told Arwen what was important, does that mean he doesn’t think his own GRANDSON was important??
I think the felt that the possibility that she might bear him a grandson wasn’t as important as the certainty
that if she stayed in Middle Earth and married Aragorn she would die.
