I’m going with Lalaith on that one. It wouldn’t make any sense for them to be smiths.
After all, a smith is a very speciallized field. It’s not exactly something you’d take up as a hobby.
Smithcraft is a popular occupation for Noldo elves. What did E and E do before their mother was attacked?

They don’t look like twins at all. I don’t think it’s El & El but think what you like.
