I like it! It looks very Efteling-like (that’s a Dutch themepark). Really cool.
The red roofs remind me of the castles in Disney movies…
Hey, where’s the bastion?
Looks like a cartoon, agree with Thalionnanuniel where’s the bastion ?
lol looks like he was working on tengwar vowels at the time too!
About the bastion, this was probably before he thought up the final design. After all, this was made in 1944,
a good while before he offically started writing LotR and was thinking of ideas.
no offense Tolkien… but I love the finished and/or movie version a lot better! lol
what happened top the whole “city” part? the hill looks a little bare.. perhaps it’s incomplete
yeah it should have more houses and the cahmber on top
more than a city seems a castle over a hill =(… the only houses are those on the top
its obviously incomplete
oh pretty! i like how it fades off at the bottom, like un-fathomable depths! (i know it sounds dumb and it
isn’t supposed to be finished but it is so cool!)
o and one more thing-you can see he never finished it, 1) the bottom is fade-ey and 2) the bricks on the wall
aren’t colored in!
(i know, i know, i’m a bore!_sorry!_)
no, good points Lady of Imladris. I like this, personally. It’s actually very close to how I imagined it.
I like it. Apparently it was called “Steinborg” or “Stanburg” at this time, which is also what the Tengwar…
…lettering says in an older version without the tehtar (vowel-mark) system. Interesting.
