Parody of "Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat" by from Cats

Legolas the archer Elf
The Elf of the archer’s trade

There’s a whisper down the line
At 11:39
When the army’s prepared to ride for battle
“Where is Leggy, where is Leggy,
Has he been kidnapped by Peggy? Without him we’ll be slautered like cattle!”

All the footmen and the soldiers
And the King and all his daughters
Will be searching high and low
Saying “Leggy, where is Leggy,
Did the fangirls come and get him?
Without him, we’re sunk, you know!”

At 11:42,
When the charge is overdue
And the army is all frantic to a man,
Then Leggy would appear,
And he’d saunter from the rear.
He’d been getting all the arrows he can!

Then he gave one flash of his bright blue eyes and the men’s hearts lost their fear.
Then they’d charge at last to the battlefield, brandishing their swords and spears.

Legolas the archer Elf
The Elf of the archer’s trade

He was at his fiercest when he rode to fight the orcs
And he shouted a battle cry.
When he loosed his bowstring, you could hear the arrows sing
And the gasping of orcs as they died.
Spoken: And Gimli at his side said with badly contained pride
“Legolas, I’ve already got two!”
Sung again: But he met this with a smile, and it took Gimil a while
To know 17 was what Leggy had slew!

When the Rohans emerged from their dark, dank caves
To learn that the battle was won,
Though they mostly credited the King of Men,
He had to stop and remind them again
To give some credit to our great Elf friend,
Legolas the archer Elf!

Legolas the archer Elf
The Elf of the archer’s trade

In the watches of the night he was always fresh and bright
Because Elves never need to rest
At any job or task of anyone you might ask,
Legolas always proves to be the best
With his Elven eyes and ears he can always see and hear
An enemy no matter how far away
Whenever orcs come near, the sight of him fills them with fear
In the instant before they’re slain.
You might meet him anywhere
He could be visiting the Heir
If there was anything he ought to know about.
You might see him ride to war,
To his home or to the store;
For Legolas, he really gets around!

Then he gave the orcs a wave of his long blonde hair which says don’t return again,
For they will meet without fail to their doom and peril
The Elf of the archer’s trade.
