Sam is tugging Gollum along by the elven rope on his neck. Gollum eventually becomes so upset, he begins muttering a song to himself.

The fat one will never change his ways.
He thinks that he can own me like a slave,
And I want to run away,
But every time I try he’s in my face.
I know I will never have it all,
But trust him and he will always let me fall.
Gollum still feels bound to the ring’s control,
But Smeagol says, “No, no, no.”

Stop right there!
Suddenly temptation’s flying
Everywhere!
And the fat one’s got me down.
Well, think again. I’m not his friend
It’s plain to see, the ring’s my property.

Gollum silences and Sam picks up from the place he had left off.

“Gollum!” It’s him once again
Begging me to listen to his evil plans,
But you see I know the truth.
‘Cause he is deceiving us and so we’re through.
I know we will never have it all,
But trust him and he will always let us fall.
We don’t have to give into his demands.
We’ll keep the ring from his hands!

Stop right there!
Suddenly temptation’s flying
Everywhere!
But I won’t let him get me down.
Well, think again. I’m not his friend.
It’s plain to see, he’s now my property.

Sam stops and throws Gollum a dirty look. Frodo, from his place in the front, continues the song.

I don’t have to do anything they want me to.
I don’t need them to mess with me anymore,
But I know the ring is my weakness.
There is nothing more they can do.
