Parody of "One Tin Soldier" by Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies

Listen, children to a story that was written long ago,
About a hobbit from a valley and a ring that’s forged of gold.
At the mountain was the hobbit, at the very Crack of Doom,
And with the ring he fought not to take it for his very own.

Go ahead and cast the ring in.
Go ahead and save us all.
Do it in the name of the Shire,
Even though they’ll never know. There won’t be any trumpets blowing to welcome in the king,
If on this bloody morning you don’t throw in the ring.

Now the people of the city sent an army to the gate
And they challenged Sauron so that from his malice might escape
Frodo and his faithful servant. “With whom now all our hopes lie,”
Cried the noble king Elessar, “Even if today we die.”

Go ahead and cast the ring in.
Go ahead and save us all.
Do it in the name of the Shire,
Even though they’ll never know. There won’t be any trumpets blowing to welcome in the king,
If on this bloody morning you don’t throw in the ring.

Now Elessar cried with anger, “Mount your horses! Draw your swords!”
As Sauron unleashed his forces.Yet, in the end all hope seemed forlorn.
But even as Sauron looked upon the mountain dark and red,
All the land began to tremble — and from this world his spirit fled.

Go ahead and cast the ring in.
Go ahead and save us all.
Do it in the name of the Shire,
Even though they’ll never know. There will be trumpets blowing to welcome in the king,
On this bloody morning after the ending of the ring.
