Parody of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" by The Band

Well Glorfindel is my name, and I served with the Golden Guard
Till Morgoths balrogs came and tore up the city yard
Toward the ending of the first age
I was fighting, with all of my rage
Glothmog was dead, Ecthelion had fell
It’s a time
I remember oh so well

The night they drove Gondolin down
And all the elves were screamin’
The night they drove Gondolin down
And all the dragons were singin’ they went NAAAA NANAAA NA NA NANA NA NAA NA NAAA NANA NA

Back with my charges Tuor and Idril
When they called through the fog
Glorfy quick come see, there goes another balrog
Now I don’t mind wielding my sword
And I’ll never break my word
I did what I could even though I was toast
But they should never have sent me to Mandos

The night they drove Gondolin down
And all the elves were screamin’
The night they drove Gondolin down
And all the dragons were singin’ they went NAAAA NANAAA NA NA NANA NA NAA NA NAAA NANA NA

Like no other before me, I’ve come back again
And like myself before me, I’m protecting the family again
Now there’s three young kids, including the twins
And I argue, but I never win
I’ll abide to my word that on my honour I gave
But those elflings will drive me to another grave

The night they drove Gondolin down
And all the elves were screamin’
The night they drove Gondolin down
And all the dragons were singin’ they went NAAAA NANAAA NA NA NANA NA NAA NA NAAA NANA NA
