I first read The Hobbit and LOTR in 1983, and nothing was ever the same. I won't even say how many times I re-read both...but each time more sank in. Much, much later, I actually opened my copy of the Silmarillion, which I'd been given when I was just a young child. I discovered fan fiction this last year, and fell in love with the Elvenking. Writing extensive and thoroughly researched stories became an obsession, and the more I look, the more there is to learn. I use this site as a resource, so it made sense to join the fun!
