In Middle-earth, “Haleth” is actually an androgynous name. In the Silmarillion, there’s of course the female chieftain named Haleth; but, from “The House of Eorl” in LOTR Appendix A we learn that, one of the sons of Helm Hammerhand was also named Haleth. So, it’s quite a proper name for a Rohir boy.
