In this scene, Aragorn is not as kingly as they made him out to be. When talking to the two hobbits (taken out of the movie completely), he wrapped his cloak around him and started to smoke again. Pippin says something to the effect of “Strider the Ranger has come back!” and Aragorn replies with “He has never been away. I belong to both Gondor and the North.” (TTT, Floatsam and Jetsam)
