Ingredients

3 cups milk
1/4 oz. unflavoured gelatin powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites


Instructions

Measure milk into top of double boiler. Sprinkle gelatin over top. Let stand for 5 min., then heat over simmering water.
Add sugar and salt.

Mix a little of the hot mixture in with egg yolks, then pour yolks and vanilla into doubleboiler. Cook and stir until mixture coats a metal spoon. Remove from heat. Chill until it begins to thicken.

Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into chilled mixture. Pour into a pretty bowl.

Serve with whipped cream and Creamy Elven Chocolate Sauce.
