Serves: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
2 ½ c. flour1 tbsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
8 tbsp. cold butter (1 stick)
1/3 c. sugar
½ tsp. cinnamon
2/3 c. milk
½ tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. honey
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425ºF.Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Add butter and mix with a fork until fine granules form.
Add sugar and cinnamon and mix.
Add milk, sugar, and honey and stir with a fork until dough forms.
(More milk or flour may be added if necessary)
Knead dough a few times on floured surface, then roll it out into about ½ inch thickness.
Use cookie cutters to cut out lembas.
Place them on a non-stick cookie sheet so that sides are not touching.
Bake in oven for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden on the outside.
Let them cool completely then wrap them in mallorn leaves. If you don’t have mallorn leaves,
then store them in an airtight container and they are good for about a week.

These are really good. They taste almost like snickerdoodles:).
They are great, everyone that tried them at school and dance loved them, some of them had me email them recipe. Only there is a mitake in it. You say to add the sugar twice and never say to add the vanilla. My friend and I think we figured out were it goes. We think it is were to say to add the milk, sugar (should be vanilla) and honey. Otherwise it was wonderful. Thank you.
Thanks for all the kind comments. And yes, the vanilla should be added with the milk and honey. Thanks for correcting that, Nerwende. ^.^ I hope everyone enjoys this recipe.
this receipe is wonderful! ^_^ I just finished baking them not too long ago, and I’ve already eaten 4 of them! I was planning on saving them and taking them to school, but I may end up eating them all tonight and tomorow. I never, ever bake- this is my first time baking from scratch. Long comment. eh. I love these! I put a little honey on top of one of them when they first came out of the oven- nice effect. ^_^
These taste fabulous! All my friends thought they were wonderful too. We all loved them but agreed it wasnt exactly how we had imagined lembas
My friends and I made this for a senior reception and they were gone in about fifteen minutes. Everyone loved them.
They taste more like cakes than bread, but are really great and tasty 🙂
I made this, me and my friends LOVED it!
They ask me almost everyday if I made some, and when I do… *points* CHARGE!
Wow!! This is delicious, mmm, mmm. I substitued one tbsp of honey with corn syrup, and brushed butter on top of them before I put them in the oven. I love it, and will definitely make lots more in the future.
I made these for my second breakfast (lol), and they were gone by elevenses! I will now have to double the recipe if I want them to last until afternoon tea!
I just made these, but made three batches: one plain, one with pecans and one with dried cranberries. They are absolutely marvelous, but yes, they are more like cakes anything. I like them because they are not too sweet… just perfect for any elven meal!
A friend brough some to a book club and everyone LOVED it. It tasted so good. I took it to school the next day and I wasn’t hungry after I ate it. IT was so filling and delicious.
These tasted AWESOME. I put chocolate chips on them:)
My sister and I absolutely love them! They’re great!
really good, not too sweet, my parents enjoyed them, I rolled them to about 1/4 in and they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. (and easy ^^ im only 15 and i made in 15min)
These are wonderful. As I took them out of the oven I said to myself “these things need to cool faster or I’m going to burn my mouth trying to eat them now ’cause they smell *so* good.”
I’ve tried 3 lembas recipes, and this is my favorite. I always use this one. It’s delicious! The only thing I do different is that I roll out much smaller than 1/2 inch thickness, and then I cut it into bite-sized pieces, because this recipe rises a LOT in the oven. It’s sooo good, though. Awesome with whipped honey or fruit jams on top.
I SHOULD be ashamed =3 but i’m not. I can’t eat enough of it XD although I’m half dragon what do you expect me to do?
This was delicious! All friends at school enjoyed them 🙂
These were great. Except I made them a bit too thick… but they were still good. I never imagined that Lembas bread would have cinnamon in it… 😛
These are AMAZING!! 😀 I love ’em!! I did add a smidge more sugar though, but they are just as addictive without it! Great recipe!!
They are really good!
