Serves: 1 Loaf for 10 Hungry Hobbits

Prep Time: 10 prep, 75 rising, 45 baking

Ingredients

1 1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 tbsp. softened margarine
2 tbsp. poppy seeds
2 tbsp. sugar or honey
2 tsp. salt
3-3 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
Butter


Instructions

Heat oven to 375 F.

Sprinkle yeast over warm water and stir until dissolved.

Add margarine, poppy seeds, sugar, and salt. Stir until blended, about 1 minute.

Stir in enough flour and let rise in warm draft-free place until doubled in
bulk, about 35 minutes.

Stir down and spread evenly in greased
9x5x3 pan. Let rise in warm place free
from draft until doubled, about 40 minutes.

Bake at 375 F. for about 45 minutes. Remove from pan to cool and
brush top with butter.
