Ingredients

1 cup half-n-half or whole milk (preferably organic)
Or ¾ cup of heavy whipping cream
4 Dagoba organic chocolate bars (I prefer milk chocolate but dark or will also work fine)
Optional: a splash of Frangelico hazelnut liquor
or a few drops of vanilla or almond extract.

Instructions

In a double boiler heat milk on medium heat just until it simmers along the edge. Turn the heat down to low and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Add optional ingredients, stir, add chocolate piece by piece, stir slowly until the chocolate has completely melted and is incorporated into the milk.
If you want it to be thicker simply allow it to simmer until it is the desired consistency. It can be served in a fondue pot or simply in a bowl. I like to dip strawberries or fresh pineapple in it.

The great thing is that it doesn’t need to stay hot to be served, so it works well at any time of year! When it is room temperature (or even a little cooler) it is still pliable enough to be spread on your crackers, bread or fruit.
