Alassiel (Anamaleth)
Alassiel, as her name hints, was full of joy and happiness, and her eyes were always laughing. On one of her journeys, as she looked into the river Nimrodel, she saw her home burning and her family slain. She raced home on Celebhith, only to see that she was too late. Her family had been slain by orcs, her mother, her father, even her four year old brother Jeter – dead. She wept in front of her home for days, until one of her Elven friends found her and brought her to his city. He cared for her as she slowly recovered from her family’s death. Still, Alassiel was not overflowing with Joy as she used to be. Whenever she saw smoke in the east, she would fall into painful trances, and would die if no one revived her in time. Finally, she, a maiden of eleven, sought revenge for her family. Hunting down the party of orcs who had killed them, she slew them as they had done to her family. She took back her father’s sword from them, and her curse was lifted. She no longer fell into trances, though she still had occasional visions. And her heart slowly mended as joy returned to her life. She usually wanders, but often goes to visit and stay with her cousins in Minas Tirith.
