Personality: A stern, rather proud man, conscious of his status as a member of the council of Gondor and as a leader of the hill men of Lamedon. He is loyal to the royal house but is concerned for the future of Gondor. He is chauvinistic. Amlach is well aware that many people in Minas Tirith regard the men of Lamedon as rough and uneducated. His resentment of this is sometimes apparent in his dealings with other members of the council. He expects obedience from his children, especially his son, Peredur. He does not think some of his son's friends are suitable companions for the son of a council member, especially one who has been educated to become a royal page.

Appearance: Dark but greying hair and beard. His eyes are grey. He is slightly overweight, due to good dinners and not enough exercise.

History:

Amlach is the council member for Lamedon. He is one of the chieftains of Lamedon, chosen as their representative on the Council. He fought in Harad with the army of Gondor, leading a company from Lamedon.
He and his wife married when they were both in their late 30s. He was a good bowman but his eyesight is no longer so good.
