Aredhel is the oldest of the three sons of Aegnor. His two older brothers, as well as most of his family, was lost in the Dagor Bragollach. Since then he had lived mostly in isolation in the Mountains of Mirkwood. He studied lore and herbs for many years with Lord Elrond until the time came for him to fight again in the War of the Ring. He lead a group of Silvan elves out of Mirkwood, the few that would come, to the aid of the Captains of the West. Aredhel was loath to return to his dark home so he returned with Elrond to Rivendell. He took to living in the High Moor south of Rivendell. It wasn’t until he returned to Mirkwood some years later that he learned a new evil was growing. Not in Mordor but in his home. A faint light shone once more in the tower of Dol Guldur. The Nazgul were gone, but the old stronghold of Sauron still contained dark power.
