History:

Arinkalwa was born in Gondolin, the secret city. Aredhel had a secret affair with one of the city guards, before she left in search of freedom. She gave Arinkalwa to the guard before she set out and he promptly sent her to Nan-tathren, where her mother’s name stayed with her and she was royalty. Arinkalwa never knew her mother, the While Lady of the Noldor, and did not weep when her mother never came to the valley.

As a relative of Gil-galad, Nan-tathren’s ruler, Arinkalwa was named queen of the valley after his fall. Ever since has she ruled wisely and kindly. Though Arinkalwa didn’t know what it was like to have a mother she didn’t miss having one, but a small part of her strong heart remained dark. She suspected it was her disconnection with Aredhel that caused her subconscious pain. But Arinkalwa never knew her half-brother Maeglin, nor did she wish to.
