History:

He was born in Eregion in 800, shortly after its founding. His childhood was relatively normal, and he grew to be a metal smith. He was among those taught by Sauron, and helped forge the Three Rings. After Sauron’s plan was discovered, Dilasca was sent to the Grey Havens to hide Narya with Cirdan. He felt that Eregion would be the first to fall, and took Ascanen with him. However, while on their way, they were attacked by servants of Sauron. Dilasca knew that if Sauron got Narya, he would devastate Middle-earth. So, Dilasca protected the ring. While he was doing that, Ascanen and many other elves were taken. Dilasca did not have the time to chase them, and had to finish his trek to the Grey Havens.

After seeing Narya safely in Cirdan’s hands, Dilasca began looking for his sister. After many years, he began to give up hope, and assumed her dead. Then he heard rumors of a she-elf in Sauron’s service. He did not want it to be Ascanen, but the description matched.

He went to rescue her, but she had been so thoroughly brainwashed that she fought him; and Dilasca was forced to flee. A year later, he returned with sleeping potion and rope. He knocked her out and tied her up, and dragged her out of Mordor. Her extra weight on his shoulders made it difficult, and he suffered a leg wound in the attempt.

He spent months trying to cure her of Sauron’s influence, but failed. Finally, he reached Rivendell and asked Elrond for his help in exchange for working. Ascanen recovered well under Elrond’s care, but still had too many outbursts. Elrond told Dilasca of Lothlorien, and told him to take Ascanen there. In Lothlorien, Dilasca worked in the metal shops while his sister recovered. Now he sometimes visits Rivendell, usually taking his sister with him. When he can’t be with Ascanen, he leaves her in a friend’s care.
