Race: Noldorian elf
Height: 6' 1
Age: Born c.500 First Age
Family: see History
Animals: White Mare~ Ivrin (gift from Rohirrim)
Weapons: Bow and Arrows of Galadrim, Silivbal (sword), and Nestad (Healing Ring)

Personality: Elissae’s history did not bode well for the lady. Her experiences in the War of Beleriad will forever haunt her and it shows as she is grim dealing with strangers, and sometimes even friends. She is arrogant towards all save for Lorien elves and proud as well. When one insults the maiden the insult is quickly lost as the offender runs for his life. Elissae is quiet and mysterious among strangers. She becomes lost in her thoughts easily, which does not do well for her defense in the woods. She is a leader by nature, but knows when to do as told. She resents the Valor for putting a ban against Galadriel and scoffs all who sail to the Blessed Realm. Elissae is fierce in battle, but gentle in healing. Although she doesn’t have many, with close friends she is easily amused and giddy, but she doesn’t mind being alone. For alone she has been all her. Behind the proud elf is one who has faced tough losses and yearns for love. Love is all she longs for, but has evaded her all her life and after thousands of years it has pushed her to become a cold elf on the outside. Like most elves, she is forever saddened as their time on Middle-earth is fading. However, she refuses to acknowledge Valinor and would never leaver her lady.

Appearance: (The picture is how I imagine Elissae when wearing a dress. She loves to wear dresses, but does not often have the chance to for men-wear are less restricting during fighting and traveling. She is strolling in the deep woods of Lorien, thinking deep thoughts. Thanks to Agata Szymanski for letting me use this beautiful picture!) The she-elf is the tall, slender built of the elves. Her long, dark hair is tied up in traditional warrior braids. Like most of the Noldor she has far-seeing gray eyes that are as cold as the night. Although she wears a uncaring mask, her eyes betray all her heartache, lost, and loneliness. The ancient elf dons the silver garb of the Lothlorien guards, but also owns a shielding cloak hand made by the Lady of Light herself. Strung across her back are her Galadrim bow and arrows and beside her waist is her never-failing sword, Silivbal. Silivbal is an ancient elven weapon from the First Age and created for Elissae herself and will only fight well for her. It’s white handle is decrypted with elvish runes telling of the Sleep of Yavanna. Upon her finger she bore her greatest gift and precious treasure, which she prides above anything else. The ring whom Fëanor, the creator of the Silmarils, forged himself for Galadriel and whom she passed to Elissae. Nestad possesses great powers of healing, though only in times of urgent need. The ring gleamed silver as it was made from mithril and encrusted with a shimmering pearl, rare in the inland of Middle-earth. Great was the ring, but with a flaw--it will not provide assistance to the bearer.

History:

Elissae, a Moriquendi, was daughter to the Noldorian Lord Edrahil and Lady Laurelin. Her parents were of the elves who made the Great Journey to Valinor and were considered Caliquendi. Edrahil and Laurelin later sailed with Galadriel (under the host of Fingolfin) back to Aman to recover the Silmarils from Melkor. Her father, a great warrior and leader, was slain in the War of the Great Jewels. Her mother, a renouned healer, was overcome with grief and was dying slowly. She would have died, but the Ban on the Exiles was lifted at the end of the First Age, so she sailed back to Valinor to relieve her sorrows. Elissae, only 100 years old at the time, had no desire to go to Valinor for she was and would always want to be a Moriquendi. With a tearful farewell, the two she-elves went their separate ways, one to the Blessed Realm and the other in Exile. But both will meet again in the End. Then, Galadriel took her into her guard, for her parents served the Lady well during the War. From then on Elissae served the Lady as her Queen and new mother. She survived the War of the Great Jewels and Beleriad and then followed Galadriel to Doriath, Eregion, and finally the establishing of Laurelindorian. During those times, she protected her Queen, whom she owed everything to, with her life. After Lothlorien was built, the world grew peaceful and hard times soon ceased, which allowed the she-elf to rest from her troubles.

In Lorien, Elissae spent much time thinking and discovered she had forgotten much about her parent. Despairing, the Lord and Lady of the Golden Wood took to becoming her new parents and she grew ever fonder of them. Lady Galadriel helped enhanced Elissae’s healing skills and they soon became invaluable. Lord Celeborn taught her archery, but she would always be better with a sword. Of the few things left in her memory she knew that her father always condemned bows and arrows and refused to teach it to her. So, sword fighting was her expertise. Elissae is held high in the regards of the Lord Celeborn and respected in all of Lothlorien as the head guard and handmaiden to the Queen. In the times of peace during the Third Age where fighting and healing skills were not needed, Elissae became the diplomatic representative for Lorien. As darkness crept back into the world near the end of the Age, Elissae begged for the Lady’s leave to patrol Middle-earth, defending the Free Peoples from the Dark minions of Sauron. She meets with rangers, elves, and others with the same purpose and her wandering leads to many interesting encounters…
