History:

Gabby Harfoot’s family originally came to the Shire by way of Rivendell and beyond. His father’s family were of the Fallohides who were friendly with the elves. The dagger he wears is actually a gift from an elf whose name has long been lost. It was given to a long ago relative and passed down from father to son. Before Gabby’s parents died in a rockslide while on a mountain hike his father had spoken of it to him and told him where it was kept and that the dagger was called Elendrin. Since their death two years ago Gabby has used the dagger to cut roses , but longs for an adventure to put the worthy blade to use. His mother’s family are all farmers from the Brandywine River area. When his parents married his father came to work there because his wife had no brothers. Grandfather wanted a son and when his eldest daughter married he got one. Gabby has never married, he’s young to marry anyway, in his opinion. The truth is, he’s very shy and doesn’t really know how to go about meeting a girl. He’s helped many of them by opening doors or carrying heavy things, but only because he likes to be useful. He doesn’t actually know how to hold a proper conversation with a girl.
Gabby’s greatest desire is to have some adventure in his life. With that in mind he set off with many other hobbits and other folk for the city of Minas Tirith to see the coronation of the king. He’d heard all about the hobbits who’d been on that great adventure and thought it might be exciting to have an adventure, on a smaller scale, of his very own. He supposed it was the Took blood on his mothers side of the family that made him want to go on a ramble like that. At any rate, he’d been there for the coronation and now would be heading home.
