Gender: 2
Race: Dwarf
Height: 4'1
Age: 47
Family: 8th cousin, twice removed of Gimli
Animals: she doesn't much care for them
Weapons: Large battle hammer, 3 small hand axes, one of which is highly decorated

Personality: Hannalisa is rough, rowdy, baudy and will rush headlong into any fray she can get her hands on (creating a few along the way when one couldn't be found). Though tough as nails on the exterior, her bravado hides a lack of self confidence. She is quick to anger but posseses the rare dwarven trait of being able to apologise if she finds herself alienating too many friends. If she hits you, it means she likes you and when Hanni starts a brawl, she'll usually buy you a drink afterwards. In her own way Hanni has developed a sort of protective nature towards the smaller races which she feels need protecting.

Appearance: Carrot orange hair crowns her head in a halo of braids all decorated with little gold baubles. She has long bushy sideburns that aren't quite a beard despite all her efforts to grow one in and small hazel eyes peer out from under thick brows. Her face is much like her body, small and round, and Hanni could easily pass for a male when in full armor. (though if you ask her, it's painfully obvious that she isn't) Her nose is a wee bit bulbous and she has a curt small mouth, though it magically grows in size with the amount of ale she's imbibed. :) She wears a thick chest plate carved with care by her father and a dwarven helm to match. The rest of her is clad in heavy leathers all studded and etched in runic design. Her boots have metal plates attached to the top ( a necessary addition after her third time dropping an anvil on her toes) and she wears a huge battle hammer on her back. On her belt are three small axes, two are simple long handled throwing weapons but the third is her pride and joy: Hlökk (translated to "the noise or din of battle"). Hlökk is slightly larger than the other two axes and has a shorter handle. It is the only mithril item she owns and she treasures it. The handle is thick and a covered in a thin layer of finely wrought copper, the blade is etched in runes and honed to a fine edge. (see picture, and I take no credit for the drawing.) Hanni was given this weapon by the captain of the guard when she left on her journey. It was a symbol of her growing up and was given to protect her on her way.

History:

Hannalisa was born into the same clan as Gimli, though she bears only an extremely distant relationship to him (8th cousin, twice removed, or something to that effect). Hanni to those who have worked past her tough façade and found the warm heart hidden under all that tough hide, is a burly, surly bundle of bravado. She fights with the same overwhelming passion, seemingly born unto all dwarves, that she lends to her metalworking, though for all her readiness for the battles of old, she has never fought anything tougher than her brother Bjorman (pronounced Be-yor-man). Though devoted to her clan and her craft, Hanni proved a danger more real than any orc horde when her clumsier nature took over and she proved herself to be the bane of all those working on the finer details of their master-pieces. Frustrated and at a complete loss, her father implored their king to find something constructive for her to do that wouldn’t involve being anywhere near the forges.

When rumors of a war being waged upon the elves began to filter down through the dwarven halls, Hanni was offered up as a sort of emissary (though most dismissed the rumors as just that) and she was sent forth to make her way to Rivendell, asses the situation and report back. No one really expected her to come across an actual war and they all agreed that it would do her some good to get out and go on a character building trip. Her father is convinced that her clumsy nature is due to a lack of self confidence that she covers with an inflated sense of bravery. This bravery, while a strength in some situations can also prove to be her downfall in others as she accepts almost any challenge thrown her way just to prove herself against it.
