After refusing the summons of the Valar to Valinor, and falling away on the Great Journey, he never saw the light of the Two Trees of Valinor along with his family, who still dwell in Lothorien, as far as he knows. Around his 210th birthday he felt the need to navigate the Sea. It was in this same year Ihlir came to Beleriand where he discovered the forests of Nan Elmoth. The dark and ancient woods on the banks of the River Celon in East Beleriand. Beleriand is the subcontinent northwest of Middle-earth. It was here that Thingol met with Melian, and was the home of Eöl the Dark Elf.

The darkness was peaceful to Ihlir and he and took comfort in its dwellings, deciding not to return to Middle-Earth. Some years later, living entirely alone, he discovered a band of ruffians who dwelt at the western end of the forest. He gladly accepted their offer to join in their group, for he had been lonely beneath unfamiliar the stars for quite some time and wished to travel. He soon learned that the leader of the group had a withered heart and was devistatingly evil. He hated everyone and everything, even sending one of the members to kill another who had failed to satisfy his ghastly requests. When Ihlir saw one evening that the leader was about to kill one of his friends, Ihlir grew furious. Realizing that their wasn’t much time for contemplating a plan of action, Ihlir attacked the leader. Ihlir slayed the evil elf quickly, sufferring minor wounds. Returning to camp with his dearest friend unharmed, Ihlir was unsure of the group’s response. For his actions, the group commened him the chief advisor of the new leader, Danileiawynn. Unfortunately, they do not get along too well and are argueing to this very day….
