Mae has no name, lost with only a gold name on herself saying, “Mae, to shallow waters may she turn”, found by a human family. At 14, when her “parents” realized she had hairy feet, they forced her out, them hating hobbits and all. She traveled for many years until she found her true home, the Shire. Although she refused to live in the village and only nearby in a tent, a kind gardener welcomed her into his master’s house. All the trouble happened when a person shouted, “She looks like a Brandybuck!”…then another person cried out, “No, look at her! She’s a Proudfoot!” All of this mess led to one thing…”Who gets the half-hobbit?”
