Race: Silvan Elf
Height: 6'2
Age: 2214
Family: Nyae Lonide [mother] and the Filnoi Eôlan [father]
Animals: N/A
Weapons: Longbow, elven daggers and an elven longsword

Personality: In terms of his disposition; it is rather silent. Mornian is the eyes and the ears of any group he comes to join - not really a leader (by HIS choice), nor a voice. He does what is needed, and prefers to observe rather than speak out. Due to his excessive training and skill, he travels quite frequently from wood to wood, training various elves. Mornian is generally a gentle being, as all elves, with a large amount of respect towards the lands and forests/nature of Middle Earth. When matters of importance arise, Mornian is a trustworthy, strong individual; one any man or elf would be greatful to have by their side. Mornian is an incredible warrior and becoming known for his skill and percision with a bow and blade - when it comes to war, nothing phases the young elf from the task at hand. In terms of love.... Mornian has yet to find an elfess who so holds his heart. At the time, it would seem the young sentinal has no interest in settling down, not while he can still scout and fight out the evil withstanding in Middle Earth. But fate is a tricky thing, and anything is possible. He has a certain... mistrust of some humans, though it is something to merely overcome. He's seen many great men fall and succom to the call of evil one too many times. It's disheartening, but Mornian is an elf that believes some humans CAN restore faith in mankind. They will step up, and prove to be great kings, queens and leaders. Though many elves hope to one day sail from Middle-Earth, Mornian doesn't think that day will come for him. He enjoys these lands, his home, and doesn't want to live forever. Dying in battle would be something the elf could be proud of. Regardless, Mornian believes Middle-Earth still holds a lot for him. Mornian has since cut off ties with his family; at least, his father's side: the Eôlan. Since denouncing himself after his mother's sailing -- he took her maiden name, Lonide. He has not spoken to his father or elder brothers since, and would prefer never to return to Mirkwood, unless it was of dire need.

Appearance: The Wood-elves (Silvan elves) were a rustic and unlearned group of Elves that never travelled west and had little or no role in the great histories and events of the First and Second Age. They lived in the forests and the wild, had no cities or much in the way of technology, were well-known for their singing, and seldom bothered about the troubles of the world. Mornian is considered young by Elven standards, but is at least five centuries old - ranging around 2200 years old, yet looking like a young man of 25. He has flowing gold hair, which comes a bit past his shoulders, and is braided in the traditional style of Elves in his realm.... That is, until he cut it off. While it is odd for an elf to do such, and considered unorthadox, Mornian did so for himself; perhaps as an outlash towards his past. But now, his hair is short and somewhat uneven and choppy -- but he is still fair. Mornian is blessed with the gift of beauty and strength; fair of face, beyond the measure of men. He is a tall, lithe being, around 6'2 in height - with a slender form; the body of a runner, in good shape and peak physical condition. He can normally be seen wearing the traditional garb of his woodland trades; dark and light browns, forest greens of all shades - even occasionally light blues for celebration and formal attire. Yet the garb of a warrior suits him best, and Mornian prefers to wear what gives him liability on the warplains or while scouting.

History:

Little is known about Mornian’s early life. His date of birth is not known, but he is rumored to have a few older silbling brothers, and a fairly normal elven upbringing. Mornian was a Silvan Elf of Sindarin descent. His father Filnoi was one of the Sindar who had come from Lindon sometime before the year 1000 of the Second Age. The Elves of Mirkwood were mainly Silvan, or Wood-Elves, and Mornian identified himself as one of the Silvan folk. The elven boy was born to Nyae Lonide and the Filnoi Eôlan – in Mirkwood. Despite the fact that the revolutions and rebellions were coming and going in the past century – battles and One Rings, and that they were in the age of supposed Enlightenment – the Eôlan family lived in a treetop habitat near the outlining boarders of the wood – rather well off and well connected in trade and law of their wood, and Filnoi was a high councilmen for their elven kin.

Being somewhat shunned by his father and brothers (since he was the youngest), Mornian dreamed of a different life; a dream that was shared by his mother, Nyae, who was also tired of being ignored by her husband and power-starved sons. For the mother and youngest son, life in the family was hard. Nyae was given to Filnoi by HER father, as was custom in the elder days – to be a wife and bear children. Filnoi’s love and desire for the elven woman had long since diminised; her task done, to him, as she had provided him with about five sons. The youngest, Mornian – Filnoi hadn’t exactly wanted. Nor needed – therefore, to him, Mornian was useless.

And so the life was hard. Mornian found many frustrations that came with him trying to prove himself to his father and older brothers. It meant something to Mornian. He WANTED to be taken seriously, to be held in the same regard as his older siblings, to be respected. But rather, his efforts were unnoticed by everyone save his mother — who always gave him undying support and love. During his pubescent years, Mornian was en-route to Rivendell, riding from Mirkwood. He was bothered by a small group of other elves, and bullied – yet he fought back, and released a vat of pent up anger, winning the small brawl and fighting the group off. Something inside of him became unleashed through this event, isolating himself further from his father and brothers. He was different, and knew it. Mornian was more of the soldier, as well as the most lethal and violent (a short fuse). But still, a leathal apponant, nonetheless.

Soon after the incident, Mornian met a young elf – Halerea, in Rivendell, who was his age. The two of them immediately established a rapport, and they left to seek some time and refuge in Lothlorien, in search of greater things; the better life both dreamed. Mornian, having little money nor a place to live, joined the Lothlorien sentinals; they would supply him with a small home with some of the other training sentinals, and some small wage — but just as he was beginning his training, he was taken under the wing of an elf named Leion — who saw promise in the young elf, and taught the tricks of the trade in bow, blade and scouting. Leion was a well-known elven soldier; he’d been the Captain of many small outfits, he’d faught in many battles for many centuries, and was held in high regard.

He offered Mornian a choice; a fruitful, enlightened, immortal life… or, to die like everyone else, making foolish mistakes… perhaps even ultimately sailing to run away from such mistakes.

Blindsided by the idea of being able to provide for his mother and live some kind of glorified life, Mornian accepted. He was, on that day, to begin his extensive training. Leion brought him to different parts of Middle Earth, not just Lothlorien; they travelled to realms of men and even dwarves. And because Leion was such a respected warrior in Lothlorien already, no one questioned his excursions with Mornian. They knew Leion had found his new protoge; for Mornian, he’d found something of a father figure. Years passed, and Mornian learned what he could from Leion, training and becoming more and more skilled. Mornian was building his own reputation, and upon returning to Lothlorien with Leion, found he was already being highly spoken of. Yet only after a few days of returning to Lothlorien in celebration — Leion disappeared. Many were saddened, but not at a loss. He knew his time to sail was coming, hense, training Mornian to ‘take his place’. It was then, Mornian realized that Lothlorien was more or less his new home. He was welcomed here, respected, admired. Better than what he’d been in Mirkwood.

However, a sudden visit would change Mornian’s new life…

The dying Nyae – his mother – appeared in Lothlorien to see Mornian. Unable to simply watch her die of depression and sadness, Mornian offered his mother a place with him. Here, in Lothlorien. She accepted. It was now more than ever that Mornian could see the disheartening affect his father could have… and it boiled an even deeper loathing of his brothers and father. So, with his mother Nyae, Mornian departed from Lothlorien after many years, to go to Rivendell; the care his mother needed was there, as well as a small scouting troupe that offered to host Mornian – he could help. He accepted, and the two resided there for many years after; his mother getting care and attempting to return to health, while Mornian helped train the new sentinals of Rivendell… venturing out on scouting and hunting parties.

But Nyae was not happy. Her health only got slightly better, before getting worse again. And while Mornian tried to be there for her… he knew he couldn’t. His life now was dependant on travel, fighting, and leading others. She understood; his mother was generally a kind woman, who had been beaten down by her husband’s dismissal. Mornian attempted to convince her that Middle-Earth still held many wonders… but it was not enough – and the life her youngest son had provided was in no way comforting. And on a day in late fall… Mornian watched his mother sail on the boat, bound for the Undying Lands. Mornian – still getting over the loss of his mother – returned to Mirkwood, to seek out revenge on his father and brothers for driving the gentle, elven woman away with their cruelty. But upon arriving, Mornian found to his surprise he was greeted warmly and openly. His father and brothers had heard of his recent success, and his succession to Leion’s place in Lothlorien. Mornian had built a name for himself. Disheartened by the fact his father and brothers only NOW accepted him due to his reputation — Mornian denounced himself from the family, and left Mirkwood to return to Lothlorien. His TRUE home.

Mornian is good at what he does – be it for his betterment, or for the betterment of the wood and his people. He’s a strong and noble soldier, and fights for what he believes in and for the wellbeing of his kin. He still has a short temper, but he is trying to superss his anger and calm a bit. For the many years, now in his 2214th year…. Mornian has developed a reputation as a ‘trainer’ — he arrives in certain elven cities or hamlets, to help various woods train their sentinals, or even have them engage in brush ups and scouting parties. Since he had now cut off ties with his father and brothers, Mornian took his mother’s maiden name: Lonide.

Thus, emerged the elf, Mornian Lonide.
