Her father died when she was only the age of three so she was raised up under her mother learning the arts of high elven magic. At the age of six she learned of her destined fate and her mother started to train her in dagger, sword, bow and arrow for when she began her journey. On her sixteenth birthday she set out on this journey and has been traveling for two years now looking for her destined fate having nothing but her magic to guide her.

::flashback::

Uinaerien was only six when she first found out about the meaning to be a halfling and to carry the halflings marking. That evening after being in the market place with her mother and meeting a boy around her age and her mother acting so pecular when she saw Uinaerien talking to the boy was when her mother told her everything. Her mother said,

“Uinaerien, every halfling when they are born are given a marking matching the color of their eyes. Each marking is significant and has a opposite. The opposite marking will be on the opposite wrist of the oppostie gender in the opposite pattern.”

Her mother then pointed to Uinaerien’s right wrist at the marking that was there and then continued,

“In your case it would be on a males left wrist as a sun with an inner crescent moon, as yours is on your right and is a crescent moon with a inner sun. When you turn sixteen you must set out on your journey to find this opposite because it is he who is your destined fate.”

Uinaerien was listening to her mother intently and her mother smiled down upon her although it was a sad smile and said,

“The reason why I am telling you this now is because it is once you run into this destined fate once you must begin training in weaponry and perfecting your magic so you will be ready for your journey.”

Uinaerien then looked up at her mother after absorbing everything in and said,

“Yes, mother I understand I will begin training at dawn.”

Uinaerien then went to her room and tried to go to sleep but could not so she got out of bed and went and sat on the windowsill of her room looking out at the harvest moon and an ancient song came to her one she had never heard before. She sang that song when ever she was alone and thought her mother would not hear her. However one day her mother heard her and called Uinaerien into the den to talk. Her mother then asked her,

“Uinaerien where did you ever learn that song?”

Uinaerien’s mother was a bit pale but her beauty still lit up the room and Uinaerien replied,

“I honestly do not know mother the song came to me five years past on this very night, the Harvest moon, when you first told me of the halflings journey and marking.”

Her mothers eyes then began to water and Uinaerien asked,

“What is wrong mother?”

Her mother then replied,

“Oh nothing, my dear Uinaerien, although I have to tell you this that song too shall lead you to your destined fate. The reason why I did not tell you of the song before now is because legend has it that only one pair of the destined fates would come of the song every thousand years.”

Her mother then hugged her and told her to go back to her training and Uinaerien did as she was told.

The night of her sixteenth birthday finally came and it was time for Uinaerien to head out on her journey that night her mother showered her with gifts of a elven rune with a moonstone necklace, an elven dagger, and her fathers bow and arrows. Her mother also gave her a fair warning,

“Remember Uinaerien there are many bounties out there for halflings blood so be careful not to let your gaurd down to often, and good luck.”

With that said her mother kissed her on the cheek and Uinaerien put the brown leather cuff around her wrist and the hood of her cloak over her head and mounted her horse Night. As she began to ride off in the night she heard her mother yell to her,

“Let your magic guide you you have a special gift of elven and gypsy magics they shall protect you.”

She waved back to her mother and continued to ride off in the night.
