Personality: Quiet, keeps to herself a lot. Doesn't speak unless necessary. Hot-tempered and stubborn, as well. But when you get to know her, she has a loyality that is hard to beat.
Appearance: Tall, slender and willowy, but much stronger than she looks. Waist-long blonde hair, curly at the ends and straight with a slight wave the rest of the way. Almond-shaped blue eyes accented by thin, blonde eyebrows. Straight nose with just a hint of turning-up. Full lips with dimples barely visible at the corners. Long, slender ears with a definate point at the tips. Broad shoulders. Definate femine form, but harder than the typical soft female. Long hands, calloused palms and fingertips from long hours of sword and bow-work. Dresses like a typical ranger, most of the time, as she despises dresses and will only wear them if the occasion is too formal for travel-worn clothes. Always wears two necklaces, a blue stone with a gold chain and a mithril Valar sign.
History:
Her mother died when she was born, and Vana was raised in the kitchen. When she was twenty, Gandalf discovered she was there and liberated her in a sense. For years afterward, she lived happily with her brother and father. Then something happened, about fifty years ago, that she cares not to think about, and the shame of it drove her from her home, though no elf knew of it. She had traveled as an elven ranger, wearing different names like “Estel” and “Esgal”, and most of the time she concealed her true gender. She learned some of each of the languages of Middle-earth, including the Dark Speech. She learned there to be reclusive, traveling alone much of the time. Only recently has she learned to laugh and make friends again.
