Delayed again?

Although we were excited when Sir Ian McKellan announced that ‘The Hobbit’ would begin filming this July, it now seems as if production will instead begin at the end of this year.

Hobbit holes on the rise

Hobbit holes, for the set of ‘The Hobbit’ have been popping up in the town of Matamata, New Zealand, once again. The hobbit holes are set in the same location as they were in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings adaption.

Filmmaker Del Toro to give ‘Hobbit’ new look

After the huge success of the “Rings” series, Jackson is now working on adapting the J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy novel that takes place before the trilogy. But this time the Oscar-winning New Zealand filmmaker is producing and working on the script, relinquishing directing duties to Del Toro, whose credits include “Pan’s Labyrinth” and the two “Hellboy” movies.

Hobbit Filming Begins in July

The BBC reports that filming on ‘The Hobbit’ is set to begin in July. No word yet on who is going to be playing Bilbo!
