Astronomers, after combining images of spiral galaxy NGC4151 from three different telescopes, have decided that the combined image is reminiscent of ‘The Eye of Sauron’. You can view the article and image here.
James Nesbitt has said that that he accepted the part of Bofur on the condition that his two daughters, aged 10 and 13, could be extras in the movies. You can read the full story here. At Ian McKellen’s official website he reveals that he has seen Martin Freeman “ done up as Bilbo, testing his costume in front of the 3D cameras.” Andrew Lesnie was controlling the camera that produces the 3D image and Ian McKellen reveals that “above the director’s chair, was a large colour screen in full magical three dimensions”.
The Tolkien Estate has sent a ‘Cease and Desist’ order over author Stephen Hilliard’s attempt to release his new book ” Mirkwood, A Novel About J.R.R. Tolkien”, which contains JRRT as a character and is described as an exercise in ‘literary criticism’.
On Feb 17th Hilliard filed suit against the Tolkien Estate arguing that his work should be allowed to be released under the First Amendment and fair use. You can read the full story here.
