A southern region of Gondor bounded by the Mountains of Shadow in Mordor, River Harnen, River Poros and the Mouths of Anduin. Harondor became Gondor's southernmost province in the year 830 of the Third Age in the reign of Falastur, the first of the Ship-kings. It remained part of Gondor until 1856 of the Third age when all of Gondor east of the Anduin was lost in the wars with the Wainriders. Although the Wainriders were defeated in the Battle of the Camp in 1944, war and plague had weakened Gondor to the point where Harondor was never resettled.

Finally, after forces issuing from Mordor attacked Gondor in 2000 and captured Minas Ithil in 2002, Harondor and all the rest of Gondor's territory east of the Anduin, although still claimed by Gondor, were abandoned by all but bands of solders.
