Weta Workshop video

On 27th February Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger of Weta Workshop gave a presentation at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia. Topics covered included; working with Peter Jackson, the work of Alan Lee and meeting the actors. You can now view a video of the presentation at phm.gov.au.

Trilogy marathon in Toronto

On 16th April Isometric Projections will screen all three of the LotR movies. The trilogy marathon will be held at the Ontario Place Cinesphere IMAX Theatre, Toronto, starting at 11am and finishing around 9pm.

There are also separate screenings of each of the movies; The Fellowship of the Ring – 22nd April, The Two Towers – 29th April and The Return of the King – 6th May.

Ian McKellen – official site update

The Lord of the Rings E-Post section of Ian McKellen’s official site has been updated. The questions he answers include whether he suffered from “separation anxiety after wrapping the films” and he talks a little about a scene between Gandalf and Legolas that was cut from The Fellowship of the Ring.

Peter Jackson’s lawsuit

Eonline.com report that Peter Jackson’s production company, Wingnut Films, has filed a lawsuit against New Line Cinema, the distributors of the LotR movies. The claim relates to profits from The Fellowship of the Ring.
