Tickets are now on sale for the Houston Symphony’s performances of Howard Shore’s “Lord of the Rings Symphony”. The performances will be conducted by Alastair Willis and will feature the Houston Symphony Chorus, Houston Children’s Chorus and Kaitlyn Lusk, soprano.
The concert dates are Friday, July 8th and Saturday, July 9th at 7:30 in Jones Hall. There is further information (including a video clip featuring Howard Shore) at the orchestra’s website here.

This is Devon report on how campaigners have been fighting to save the future of the Three Cups Hotel in Lyme Regis, Devon. The hotel is believed by some Tolkien scholars to have been the inspiration for the Prancing Pony.

Auditions are continuing in Canada for the stage production of Lord of the Rings, with rehearsals due to begin in October. So far 4000 people have auditioned and it is expected that the final cast will be around 50. You can read more about the casting process at Canada.com.
