BBC News report that US scientists are developing technology which will enable people to send a 3D image of themselves via the internet. It is planned that the system will make use of the technology similar to that used to create Gollum in the LotR movies.
On 16th July Amazon is planning an concert featuring Bob Dylan and Norah Jones to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The concert will be streamed live online and will feature behind-the-scenes footage from Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, one of Amazon’s best selling DVDs. Click here for more information.

Non-fiction, fiction and art work submissions are now being accepted for the second issue of the journal. One feature of the second issue is Readers Voices: “For the love of Tolkien…” In 40 words or less, share the craziest thing you have done “for the love of Tolkien”.There are further submission details here.
Trolls and Legends, a fantasy festival, will take place in Mons, Belgium from 24th to 26th June 2005. This event includes screenings of the LotR movies and on Sunday 26th June the guest of honour will be John Howe. There is further information about this event here.

Lord of the Brush, a documentary about the work of John Howe, artist and one of the conceptual designers on the LotR movies, will premiere on Bravo on June 19th at 8pm EST 5 pm PST. From July 1st an extended DVD of the programme will be available. There are further details about the programme here.

On Thursday, August 18th, at the Presidio Theatre, San Francisco, there will be a charity screening of the LotR trilogy. The proceeds will go to CAN (Cure Autism Now). This event will include a raffle, door prizes, and a costume contest. There is further information about this event here.
